Happy Mail this week allowed me to play this weekend…

I received a lot of goodies in the mail this week, and it started with my beautiful Brother Scan N Cut 2.  It was the hardest thing to do to watch it stay in its box while I was busy with work, school and home.  But I finally got to play.  I also had some presents (to myself) from Close to My Heart and Altenew.  I only used my Altenew goodies and my Scan N Cut for this blog.

For my card today  I used Altenew’s Oriental Orchid.  Lillies and Orchid’s are my most favorite of flowers due to their delicate nature. Oriental Orchid is a gradient stamp set where each flower has 4 different steps.  I used 4 different inks to stamp each flower three times.  I started out with Simon Says Stamps Slate ink, next I used Versamagic ink in Pretty Petunia.  Thirdly, I used VersaFine ink in Imperial Purple and lastly was Cactus Green which I purchased from So Suzy Stamps.  I stamped these on Bazzil Marshmallow Card Stock and then used my Scan N Cut to cut out each individual flower.  I had to allow the inks to dry first since the Versamagic and Versafine are pigment inks which stay wet just a little longer than other inks.  I used Tombo multipurpose glue to attach a piece of black card stock measuring 5.5 in by 3 in to the front of an A2 card base  and a sliver of silver card stock measuring 5.5 in by 0.75 in and glued this beside the black.  I stamped the sentiment from Altenew’s Sentiments and Quotes stamp set in Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. The sentiment mirrored the orchids so well.  I then glued each individual flower on the black card stock to mimic a cascade of flowers.
