You know how you get the inspiration to make something just by looking at it? I am a nurse and one of my patients was wearing a sweater that just pulled at my senses and I thought Altenew’s new stamp set Oriental Orchid would look so sweet made like that. I wish I was able to take a picture of the sweater my patient had on, but I think she may have been offended if I did.. LOL The sweater was a shower of flowers across the top of the sweater that were outlined in silver with brown tones coloring the inside of each flower. Altenew’s Oriental Orchid is a step stamp set. Each flower has 4 steps to make the orchid. I used some very vanilla card stock from Stampin Up for my card front and heat embossed the outline of three of the sizes of orchids. I them used Crumb Cake ink from Stampin Up for the second step and then Sahara Sand for the third step to get the beautiful colors of rich browns. I added the Thank You sentiment from the same stamp set and heat embossed that on black. I attached the focal piece on black card stock and my card base is of Very Vanilla. The card reminds me of that sweater I saw.
Looking at this card gave me inspiration for my next one. My Mind’s Eye has beautiful paper called Fancy That and I happened to get my hands on a 6×6 pack which I use so sparingly because I do not want it to finish. There is one particular piece that is so beautiful. It is a pink background with a leaf like design heat embossed in gold. I cut out each individual leaf and attached it in a cascading fashion on black card stock. I then used So Suzy Stamps sentiments to make this a gorgeous birthday greeting for a friend who has a birthday next month. The only thing about making cards is that I have to wait to give them to the person and then wait until they open it. And if it is not in front of me then I hate waiting for the person to message me telling me what they thought of the card..I know, I know… I am crazy. But I love what I do..
So Suzy Stamps have great sentiments that appeal to anyone’s heart. Please give me some love and tell me what you think of these two cards I made that were inspired from a sweater….

Great cards. I never would have thought of layering the leaves.
