My dear friend Monica Taylor of TaylorMadeCards4U ( http://taylormadecards4u.blogspot.com) always creates these fabulous vintage masterpieces. I have just been able to stare in awe. Now I am able to create a vintage background also. For this I used a white crayon, and embossing folder, a brayer and some dark ink. I took some white card stock. Any weight will do however I noticed the heavier the weight the harder you have to press the crayon. I used some 60# from Recollections which I picked up from Michaels. You take the raised side of the embossing folder and place the card stock on top. Take the white crayon and press hard over the card stock. I used the Darice Henna design. The more pressure you use the more of the design will show up. I removed this and next I inked up my brayer with Slate colored ink from Simon Says Stamp and just ran it over the crayoned side of the card stock. Viola! The image appeared so beautifully. I stamped the swirls from So Suzy Stamps’ Groom stamp in Tim Holtz’ Worn Lipstick. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink and heat embossed with Ranger’s Silver Sparkle Embossing Powder. This was layered on red card stock. The background was layered on the same red card stock and then layered on a white card base made from Neenah Solar White card stock. I used some black glitter tape and attached the sentiment with pop dots to elevate it. some silver and one black sequins satisfied my craving for bling.
I even used a different color ink. Simon Says Stamps Audrey Blue and got the same effect. Everyone should try this! It was lots of fun. I was so excited to blog about it, my kids laughed at my excitement. HaHa. Thank you Monica, now I can create something vintage just like you. ❤
Leave me some love if you liked this technique or if you have any suggestions for me.
