At first I did not know how I wanted to use this wonderful stamp set from The Ton. I just knew I love hearts, diamonds and I love my bling. So I knew that this card had to have lots of it. What better way to show off bling? By making a shaker card, of course! So I did just that. This shaker card I made for a friend’s wedding that I am going to go to this evening. Hope they really like it. The first step was to make an A2 top folding card base in Bazzill Marshmallow paper. I used the same paper to make the shaker card. I used Lil Inkers stitched border rectangle dies (second largest size). Cut out the top part to add the acetate. I used the same die to cut out 2 pieces of fun foam in white that you can get at your local craft store. I attached the acetate to the one piece of fun foam with glossy accents. Do not play too much with it because it does not set right away and your fun foam will go all over the acetate. Then attach the card front to the acetate with double sided tape (I used the red colored one since it is stronger). The acetate piece will be in between the card front and fun foam piece. The attach the second piece of fun foam to the first with glossy accents. You can use any form of glue, however the glossy accents is clear. Now you can fill your shaker card. I used Martha Stewarts’ Iridescent Hearts and Stars glitter in pink and clear, silver chunky glitter, and some silver and iridescent sequins (which I found in the dollar store). Now for the background. I took a piece of the Bazzil card stock (4 1/4 in by 5 1/2 inches). On this, I stamped the heart diamonds using The Ton’s Heart Diamond stamp set. This stamp set has 4 stamps per diamond to give it the look of diamonds. I stamped the heart shape first in Tim Holtz Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. The second layer was in Tim Holtz’ Worn Lipstick, and the third layer in Tim Holtz’ Spun Sugar. To give the diamond a little sparkle, I stamped the last layer in Tsukineko’s Brilliance ink in Platinum Planet. I used the one sentiment from this same set from The Ton (May You Sparkle On Your Special Day) and The Mr & Mrs. from Simon Says Stamp set called Congratulations. I inked them in Versamark and heat embossed them in silver. I used a Gelly Roll pen in silver for the word Khan. I attached this to the card front shaker carefully with double sided sticky tape. Once my shaker was secured I then glued the entire part to my original card base. To dress it up a little I stamped the heart shapes from The Ton’s set in Versamark and heat embossed it in silver. I then used the Picked Raspberry right to the paper on top of the diamonds to give them some color. Fussy cut each one out and attached them to the front of the card with glue. I then added some silver raised heart stickers I found in my stash somewhere. This is for a special couple as they continue on their journey of life together. My prayers are being sent along with this special shaker card. Thank you every one for reading my blog post.
