I received some happy mail from a darling friend to whom I have not spoken to nor texted in such a long time that I feel like a heel. She congratulated me on my getting into clinicals for my registered nursing degree. She is a fellow card maker and she is the one who showed me the love of stamping. She is none other that Kathie. Kathie has been a long time friend, colleague and confidante. I have used her as a sounding board when I needed advise for so many issues that came up at work and that I was dealing with outside of work. She kept me strong. For her I needed something to brighten her day. And what better way that to add color and bling to a special card I made just for her.
So for this card I took Tim Holtz Distress ink colors in Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Scattered Straw. I masked off the each area and sponged the Bazzill Marshmallow card stock with each ink leaving a little bit of white between each color. Of course since the inks are distress inks they react when water is applied. I just used some water from a spray bottle, put it on my hand and then flicked my wet fingers over the card. I used my heat gun to dry the card stock. I then stamped the sentiment Hello There from Lil Inker Designs Really Rosemailing set in Memento Tuxedo Back ink along the edge of the last three colors. The die cut is from Paper Smooches. I cut it out from glitter card stock which has this fancy look to it. It is black glitter card stock with silver glitter dots. So cute! To give the die cut a little elevation I used some fun foam and cut out the same die and glued to the back of the glitter paper. I purchased some sequins from So Suzy Stamps that owner Suzy supplies to her customers from The Ton called Spotlight Couture Mix which has stars and sequins in it in black and silver and knew they would compliment this card perfectly. I attached this to some grey card stock and then attached to a white A2 card base. I pray that Kathie will love this card as much as I did. Thank you again Kathie for being there for me even though I have been MIA.
