I haven’t written a blog in such a long time and I realized that I was missing out on an important aspect of my creativity. Missing out on another outlet. So here is my most recent post.
My friend Aimee showed me a card on Pinterest that had a beautiful henna inspired design on the one side of it. She was looking for a stamp set to match that design. I tried to help her by looking for any stamp set that would match. Unfortunately, I came up with nothing. Here is the link to the original card from Pinterest. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/109704940900399092/
In an attempt to replicate it I made this card
I used Tonic Studio Nuvo Crystal drops in Copper Penny and and Red Berry. The Sentiment is from Altenew Eid Greetings Stamp set heat embossed in my favorite embossing powder by Brutus Monroe called Gilded. Black card stock layered on a Black A2 size card base. I really enjoyed making this card so much that I had to step up the pace a little.
For this next card I used a gold gel pen to draw the henna design. I then used the Nuvo Crystal drops in Copper Penny and Glitter Drops in Golden Sunset for some accents. Sentiment is from Stampin Up’s Paper Pumpkin heat embossed in Gilded again. I did not have too steady a hand as you can see. The henna design is far from perfect. However the gold on black makes up for a lot of the mistakes.
Thank you Aimee for pushing me beyond my limits. Everyone please leave me a little love for my blog after months of not posting anything. Thank you!
Gorgeous! By the way, Tonic Studios has a whole line of beautiful henna inspired stamps. If you go to their website and search “henna” they show up. Here is a link: https://www.tonic-studios.com/search?type=product&q=*henna*
