Simple I love you

20161228_193227_wm

I followed Jennifer McGuire’s recent technique to make this simple card with a powerful impact for the one you love.  February 14th is right around the corner and what better way to say that to your loved one how much they mean to you.  I used the dies from Catherine Pooler’s Young at Heart Stamp Of Approval collection for the focal point. Using Gina K’s white card stock,  I stamped the flower and leaf stamps from Altenew’s Magnolias For Her set in Soft Slate Ink Bite from So Suzy Stamps. I water colored around the stamped image with my Zig Clean Color markers.  Since I used my MISTI to stamp the original image, I placed the card stock in the same position and stamped the image again in the same spot with my Versamark this time and used Brutus Monroe’s Gilded Embossing Powder to heat emboss the image.  I am not sure if this was a fail, but I then took my gel markers in pink and green and just added a few accents.  The sentiment is from Altenew’s Painted Greetings which was again heat embossed in the Gilded Embossing Powder.  I then layered this on top of the scalloped edge piece and then attached the entire piece to some top folding card stock.  An uncomplicated card for a very complicated sentiment.

By the way, if you are following my posts, I have a special drawing for the New Year (see my previous blog) for which I will pick a winner on Jan 3rd 2017.  All you have to do is write a comment on that post telling me what you are wishing for in the New Year.  To enter click this link and leave me some love:
