A few weeks ago, I was approached to use my card making to help a cause that is in the back of every women’s mind. The Susan G Komen Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps to fight breast cancer. So when I was approached by the owner of Skipping Stones Designs, I was ecstatic. Heather proposed that I would have to make a card and auction it during the week of June 1st to 7th and all the proceeds to that card would go to the Komen Foundation. I have started making cards already, because as every one knows about me I cannot wait to create. I have made one card so far. I spoke to Heather and she shared a little secret with me. Any purchase from her website in the month of May or June will have 10% of the sales donated to the Komen Foundation. AAAAANNNNNDDDD, if you purchase 4 stamp sets, you will be able to get one free.
“Skipping Stones Design….making you laugh, and inspiring you to create, one stamp at a time since 2005. Our stamps are manufactured in the U.S. by Stewart Superior of the highest quality photo-polymer available. ” www.skippingstonesdesign.com
I have created this card because I have such great friends and this stamp set made me remember each and every one of them. The background was made with the Rose stamp from So Suzy Stamps and heat embossed in Brutus Monroe’s Spring Sparkle Embossing Powder. Then I used Ken Oliver’s Liquid Metals in Metallic Rose and Jade. I added them in separate spritzer bottles with a little bit of water and sprayed the paper in random places with the two different colors. The stamped image is from Skipping Stones Designs called Sassy Shoes. This was heat embossed in pink glitter embossing powder. The inside sentiment is from the same stamp set in black onyx from Gina K Designs. Nuvo Crystal Drops added as an accent in Carnation Pink.
